Officers Investigate Workplace Fatality

Labour and Advanced Education (Jan. 2011 - Aug. 2021)

Officers from the Department of Labour and Advanced Education's occupational health and safety division continue to investigate the death of a forestry worker who was found in the woods Tuesday, July 28, in Little Narrows, Victoria Co.

Officers are continuing to gather evidence at the site and will be interviewing ground search and rescue volunteers involved in the search.

"This man's family and loved ones have been in my thoughts since I got word of the accident," said Kelly Regan, Minister of Labour and Advanced Education. "This is a very difficult time."

This is the sixth workplace fatality this year resulting from a sudden accident. In 2014, 19 Nova Scotians died at work or as a result of a work-related illness.
