Limited Hunting Season Begins

Hunting season begins today, Sept. 14, in a limited capacity.

Bear hunting season opens today as well deer bow-hunting season. Deer hunting season for muzzleloaders and crossbows begins Sept. 28 with general deer rifle season opening Oct. 30.

Nova Scotians are reminded the Department of Natural Resources has lifted the ban on Sunday hunting for the first two Sundays of general deer hunting season. The change will apply to all wildlife in season on those dates except moose. This year, Sunday hunting will be allowed Nov. 1 and 8.

Hunters and non-hunters are strongly advised to wear hunter-orange clothing when in the woods during hunting seasons.
