NSLC Announces Second Quarter Results

The Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation (NSLC) released its second quarter results today, Oct. 21, for June 29 to Sept. 27, 2015.

Compared with last year, net income was $72.5 million, up $3.5 million, while total sales were up $8.1 million to $177.1 million. Total volume of alcohol sold was up 3.2 per cent and overall customer transactions were up 2.1 per cent. The average dollar value of each transaction also grew by 1.2 per cent.

All Nova Scotia product categories experienced growth. Nova Scotia wine sales grew by 9.0 per cent, while sales for Nova Scotia commercial wine, produced here without local grapes, increased by 9.4 per cent. Craft beer sales grew 26.7 per cent to $2.3 million, ready-to-drink sales increased 50.8 per cent, while local spirit sales grew by 128.2 per cent to $0.3 million.
