Tourism Nova Scotia Launches Search for New CEO

Tourism Nova Scotia (Oct. 2015 - Dec. 2021)

Tourism Nova Scotia launched a countrywide search for a dynamic, experienced chief executive officer today, Dec. 11. The search will run for five weeks.

The CEO will be responsible for carrying out the organization's strategic plan and leading the way as Nova Scotia's tourism sector seeks to double annual tourism revenues to $4 billion by 2024.

"We're excited about the challenge to double tourism revenues, and absolutely believe it's possible," said Ben Cowan-Dewar, board chair for Tourism Nova Scotia. "Having the right CEO leading Tourism Nova Scotia will be an important factor in meeting the organization's goal of attracting more first-time visitors. We're confident the best candidate will be identified through the search process."

Tourism Nova Scotia was established as a Crown corporation last April. Led by a private-sector, industry board, the new Crown has a mandate to drive tourism growth in the province and promote a more globally competitive tourism environment. The new CEO will be a crucial player in achieving this mandate.
