Associate Deputy Minister Frances Martin

 

Frances Martin has worked for the Province of Nova Scotia for close to 20 years. She joined the Department of Health and Wellness in March 2010 as the Associate Deputy Minister.

Frances began her career at the Department of the Environment, where she worked in a variety of capacities including front-line service to the public, program management, and policy development. She subsequently held senior-level positions with that department and with the departments of Tourism, Culture, and Heritage and Business and Consumer Services.

She most recently held the position of Executive Director at Policy and Priorities where, for six years, she supported the Department of Health, and Health Promotion and Protection in advancing major proposals through the final stages of government approval.

At the Department of Health and Wellness, Frances is responsible for: program standards and quality; diversity and social inclusion; mental health and addictions; health system workforce; pharmaceutical services; and policy and planning; and legislative policy.
