Statement from Premier Stephen McNeil on Talks with Health Care Unions

The provincial government and the four unions representing Nova Scotia health-care employees have agreed to a process to determine bargaining unit structures.

Late last week, government initiated this request, and I am very hopeful that a constructive dialogue will permit all parties to move forward.

Given the sensitivity and importance of these discussions, the provincial government will reserve further comment until they are concluded.

I appreciate the patience of all involved, and look forward to a satisfactory conclusion that meets the desire of all parties to provide the best health care possible to Nova Scotians.
