Our Lady of Assumption Convent, Arichat
The information accompanying this 1953 photograph states Our Lady of the Assumption Convent was founded at Arichat fifty years ago. However, a convent was located in Arichat many years before the early 1900s because the Geological Survey Map, 1884, identifies a Church of England, Roman Catholic Church, Hotel, Telegraph Office, Post Office, and Convent in town.
