Built Heritage Resource Guide

Geological Survey Maps

Although NSARM does not have a complete run of Geological Survey Maps for Nova Scotia, it does have coverage for most of the province, primarily between 1884 and 1910. Each sheet identifies the location of houses (residents are sometimes identified), schools, churches, post offices, stores, hotels, halls, factories, forges, wharves, roads and railway lines.

This Built Heritage Resource Guide is unusually rich in the information given in the Note Areas accompanying most images. So... when you scan down the pages, be sure to click on the thumbnails so that you can enlarge and explore the images, plus read the extra details provided beneath each.
