Royal Visit 1994

In 1994, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip returned to Nova Scotia, visiting Halifax, Dartmouth, Sydney and Louisbourg on 13-15 August. The Queen opened the new Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Halifax; Prince Philip toured the city's rebuilt and restored St. George's Anglican Church, substantially destroyed in a fire several years previously; and together they visited the Fortress of Louisbourg in Cape Breton.
