Bridge, Ecum Secum

Ecum Secum is the final community along the Eastern Shore before the Halifax and Guysborough County line. It is located 156 kilometres east of Dartmouth and was settled as early as the 1790s by the Jewers family. Other early settlers to this area include Pye, Barnard, Publicover and Barnard. Ecum Secum, Ecum Secum Bridge and West Ecum Secum are all primarily fishing communities. Pictured here is Ecum Secum Bridge, likely facing east, crossing the Ecum Secum River.
