Halifax 17th November 1815.
received of Thomas n. Jeffery Esquire Collector of His Majestys Customs at this Port by a William Richard Best his Deputy, [Four Setts?] of [Bills?] of Exchange [Numbers?] 9,,10,,11 and 14. Drawn by His excellency Sir J. C. Sherbrooke, G. C. B. on the Right Honourable the Lord Commissioner of His Majesty's Treasury, for [illegible] of Nine hundred and Seventy Eight Pounds & Seven Shillings and two pence [illegible], Bills at Par, equal to one Thousand and Eighty Seven Pounds One Shilling and three Pence [/2?] Currency in full for the Amount by the written Account, Agreeable to Contract Signed on the 27 July 1815. for which I have signed Triplicate Receipts of this tenor and date.
