and the eruption had first made its appearance. They were both in a state of the greatest destitution having had nothing in the shape of food or drink for the last few days. but a small kettle of warm water & the aforesaid Lewis Johnston is of opinion that immediate steps should be taken by the authorities: both for the relief of these attacks. & to prevent the spread of so malignant a scourge.

[The - crossed out] I would also mention that I visited another Indian who is lying in a very critical state from pulmonary disease & who is very anxious for assistance. both medical and otherwise.
