Respected Sir
I was relating the suffering of some poor distressed Indians that resided in this place last winter to Judge Brenton and he informed me that you had it in your power to grant them some relief and desired me (Should any more appear in these parts) to make it known to you not doubting but you would readily assist them. There has been several here lately and by the best information I can get there is four or five families that intend to remain round the different lakes and ponds in these parts to catch trout and muskrats which is the principle they depend on for subsistance the moos and Careboo are very scarce. I have heard of only on of the former and three or four of the latter being killed in those parts for
