The Royal Engineers in Halifax

Piers note: No. 6A. Horses, Sleighs and Carriages: Horse, light coloured, and Single-seated Sleigh or Cutter, with Royal Engineer Officer in winter uniform; willow trees and roofs of houses in background; in Lumber Yard near Grand Battery, looking northward; no doubt in 1870 (if original No. 6 is correct). The harness has saddle-bells.
