Halifax 19th May 1845 17
Sir,

We had the honor to address you on
the 13th ins.t, transmitting at the same time.
an account of expenditures for the several
departments under our superintendence amounts
to £478.4.2 and informing you that the amount
£426.7.11 remaining in the hands of the Provincial
Treasurer 31st Dec last had been sufficient for current
expenses

The outfit for the Revenue Service and
Protection of the Fisheries having commenced, the
cost of which, together with that of the spring supplies
already sent to Sable Island and the building of
the new schooner necessarily involves a considerable
outlay, we beg respectfully to communicate to
His Excellency the Lieut Governor, that we are
without funds for the disbursement of the charges
attendant upon these respective public services.

We beg to request of you the favor to make
this fact known to His Excellency, and to ask if
he will be pleased to grant us funds necessary for
the above purpose.

We have the honor to be
Sir
Your obt servts
