represents to have the Amount refunded; these facts are well known to that Gentleman, and we are surprised that Mess'r Creighton & Grassie should have endeavoured to place the transaction in any other light.

We regret the trouble this trifling transaction has given you, but we conceive we have only acted strictly in conformity to the usages of Merchants, and the orders of Government, and doubt not we shall be supported in the position we have taken.
