London 3rd May 1949

Sir

I have received your two letters of 22nd Feby + 9th April, + upon looking into the particulars as to your claim for £83.15.3, advanced to the ship-wrecked crew of the "Bella Maria", I have found a Royal Order dated 28th January last, commanding the payment to you of £78.15.6, the amount of £4.19.9 which you charge for Commission, not being provided for by H. My.s Gov.t.

In consequence of the decease of Mr Barrero, a suspension has taken place in the allowances + payments formerly made to this Consulate; I have therefore addressed to the Government a request that the said sum should be made over to you.

Immediately I receive the order for payment I will deliver the amount to Mess.rs Delisle Janvrin + Delisle.

I am
&c
