Sir,

Referring to my letter of the 30th ultimo to His Excellency Sir John Harvey, relative to the recent survey of Sable Island, I have now the honor to furnish you with Captain Bayfield's report thereon, and containing his views relative to the erection of a Light House on the Island, on which I had desired his opinion.
