I beg leave to hand you, for the information of the Executive Government, the accompanying copy of a report received from PS Dodd Esq; a Superintendent at Sable Island, in reference to the conduct of James Hawkins late Cook on the Island.

I would further beg to State, that Mr. Dodd's report was received on the 19th inst. and on the 21st. The Board met to consider the charges therein contained – Henry Osborne, the person mentioned by Mr. Dodd, was questioned (under oath) by the Board, and his answers fully established the facts as reported by Mr. Dodd.

By "Articles of Agreement" – "Any hired servant on Sable Island, for neglect of duty – embezzetment of any kind – drunkenness – absence without leave – or disorderly conduct – shall on a satisfactory proof of such
