An inter-departmental committee was established in year two. This committee conducted an inventory of policies and programs relevant to sexual violence that support prevention and support services across the departments of Health, Education & Early Childhood Development, Labour and Advanced Education, Justice and Community Services, as well as the Status of Women. Next steps will include the alignment of programs and policies.

Data was collected via a public poll in the summer of 2016 to assess baseline attitudes and behaviours related to sexual violence. This data provided statistically significant data that can be used for the evaluation of long term impacts of the Strategy, as a whole.

In 2017-18 we will conduct an evaluation of all aspects of the Strategy which will inform the next steps of Sexual Violence Prevention and Supports in Nova Scotia.
