About Addiction Services

Addiction Services helps to improve the lives of Nova Scotians who are harmfully involved with alcohol, gambling, tobacco, or other drugs.

We provide provincial leadership for this complex health and social issue by

• offering free, confidential prevention and treatment resources and services to anyone affected by addiction
• providing policy makers with the information they need to protect and promote the health of Nova Scotians
• ensuring that Nova Scotians across the province receive the highest standard of service that meets their needs
• raising awareness, providing accurate information, and supporting research

A range of services are available free of charge across the province through Addiction Services offices in Nova Scotia Health Authority and the IWK.
