The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act gives individuals the right to request a correction of personal information about themselves. Form 2 - Request for the Correction of Personal Information may be used to formally request a change to an individual’s own information. Proof must be provided before the information is corrected. It is noted on the individual's record that changes were requested even if the public body has determined that the original information was accurate. Individuals have the right to request a review by the FOIPOP Review Office of a decision if the requested changes were not made by the public body or municipality. The Request for Review - Form 7 should be used to make this request.
