The Government of the Province of Nova Scotia is offering a reward in the amount of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the homicides of Daverico Downey.

On April 23, 2016, at approximately 2:00 a.m., police responded to a report of shots fired and a vehicle leaving at a high rate of speed in the area of Downey Road in North Preston, NS. Officers located a deceased male on the ground near a residence on Downey Road. The deceased male was later identified as Daverico Downey. Mr. Daverico Downey’s death was ruled a homicide as a result of being shot.

Police believe there are persons who have information that could result in an arrest and possible charges. Any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for the homicide of Mr. Daverico Downey should call the Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program at 1-888-710-9090.

The reward is payable in Canadian funds and will be apportioned as deemed just by the Minister of Justice for the Province of Nova Scotia. Employees of law enforcement and correctional agencies are not eligible to collect this reward.
