Homicide

Police and the provincial government are hoping to receive more information about the homicides of Matthew Hebb and Earle Stewart through the Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program.

Anyone who shares information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for Mr. Hebb’s and Mr. Stewart’s death could receive up to $150,000.

On the afternoon of December 12, 2012, police and firefighters responded to a structure fire at 455 highway 374 in Sheet Harbour where they found Mr. Hebb and Mr. Stewart deceased inside the structure.

Police believe there are people who have information that could result in an arrest and possible charges. Anyone with information should call the Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program at 1-888-710-9090.

Those who come forward with information must provide their name and contact information. They may be called to testify in court. All calls will be recorded.

The reward is payable in Canadian funds and will be apportioned as deemed just by the Minister of Justice for the Province of Nova Scotia. Employees of law enforcement and correctional agencies are not eligible to collect this reward.
