Meisners Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 79-1591 (December 11, 1979), N.S. Reg. 201/79


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 6th day of December, A.D., 1979, pursuant to Section 5(1) of Chapter 6 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act, is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Meisners Beach, in the County of Lunenburg, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-19-2 marked Schedule “B” and described in Schedule “A” , both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.



Schedule “A”


All that certain area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Meisners Beach, situate near Garden Lots, in the County of Lunenburg, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown on Plan No. E-19-2 filed in the Crown Land Records Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax, Nova Scotia, a copy of which is attached hereto and being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at Survey Marker No. 1, situate on the south side of a road along the beach and situate (by grid bearings referred to the Nova Scotia 3° Modified Transverse Mercator Projection, Zone 5, central meridian 64° 30' west longitude) S 88° 50' 36" E, a distance of 4657.80' from Nova Scotia Coordinate Monument No. 16092, having co-ordinate values (Northing 16, 120, 403.74, Easting 18, 098, 152.71);


From thence easterly along the south edge of the aforementioned road 300', more or less, to survey marker No. 3, said survey marker being on a bearing of S 70° 56' 39" E, a distance of 290.39' from Survey Marker No. 1;


Thence S 36° 05' 10" W, a distance of 45.04' to Survey Marker No. 4, situate on or near the mean high watermark of Meisners Beach;


Thence northwesterly along the mean high watermark of Meisners Beach 2500', more or less, to a point;


Thence northerly continuing along the mean high watermark of Meisners Beach 470', more or less, to a point marking the mean high watermark of a tidal pond;


Thence southeasterly along the mean high watermark of a tidal pond 1330', more or less, to a point;


Thence southeasterly, continuing along the mean high watermark of a tidal pond 1430', more or less, to Survey Marker No. 2;



Thence S 05° 12' 13" W, a distance of 62.74' to the place of beginning.
