The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 24th day of June, A.D., 1976, and pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to:

 

(a)      constitute all that area of land including land covered with water owned by Her Majesty in right of the Province of Nova Scotia, situate at or near Bayswater Beach, in the County of Lunenburg, Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, said area of land being described in Schedule “A” and shown on Schedule “B”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; and

 

(b)      declare that the park shall be known as “Bayswater Beach Provincial Park”.

Bayswater Beach Provincial Park


All that certain parcel, piece or lot of land situated, lying and being at or near Bayswater Lake, County of Lunenburg, Province of Nova Scotia, the said parcel, piece or lot of land being and intending to be “Bayswater Beach Provincial Park”, as shown on plan No. E-5-33, recorded at the Crown Lands Registry Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax, and being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at a wooden stake set on the northern boundary line of Highway No. 329 and the southern shore of Hubley Lake, the said wooden stake being the corner angle of lands now or formerly owned by Basil Schnare;


From thence on astronomic bearings S 01° 06' E along the said Basil Schnare lands, distance 134 feet more or less to the point “A” as indicated on the said plan, or until it meets the mean high water mark of the Atlantic Ocean;


Thence in a southerly direction along the many courses of the said mean high water mark, distance 1930 feet to a point;


Thence N 64° 09' W, along the said Basil Schnare lands, distance 143 feet more or less to a wooden stake, the said wooden stake being S 24° 13' 06" W, distance 1906.14 feet more or less from the said point “A” as indicated on plan;


Thence N 64° 09' W, along the said Basil Schnare lands, distance 321.22 feet more or less to a Crown Land Iron Post;


Thence N 05° 37' E, along the said Basil Schnare lands, distance 435.69 feet more or less to a Crown Land Iron Post set on the western shore line of the Bayswater Lake;


Thence in a southeasterly and northeasterly direction along the many courses of the shore line of the said Bayswater Lake, distance 1653 feet more or less to a wooden stake, the said stake being N 11° 32' E, distance 950.31 feet more or less from the Crown Land Iron Post set on the shore line of the said Bayswater Lake;


Thence N 36° 37' 43" E, distance 86.00 feet to a point;


Thence N 70° 38' 53" E, distance 119.52 feet to a point;


Thence S 48° 16' 47" E, distance 79.05 feet more or less to a wooden stake set on the shore line of the said Hubley Lake;


Thence in a southerly and northeasterly direction, along the many courses of the shore line of the said Hubley Lake, distance 947 feet more or less to the point of beginning. The said parcel, piece or lot of land containing 11.47 acres more or less.


Excepting and reserving out of the hereinbefore described area Public Highway No. 329 leading from Blanford to Hubbard.

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Natural Resources and Renewables dated July 4, 2023, and pursuant to clauses 8(a) and (b) of Chapter 367 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased, effective on and after August 1, 2023, to

 

(a)      increase the size of the Bayswater Beach Provincial Park, originally designated by Order in Council 76-839 dated July 13, 1976, by adding approximately 0.4 hectare (1 acre) of Crown lands in Lunenburg County currently identified as PIDs 60437993 and 60071172 as shown outlined in bold on the plan marked Schedule “A” attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; and

 

(b)      authorize the Minister of Natural Resources and Renewables to execute such documents as may be necessary to achieve the purposes of this Order.
