Rissers Beach Provincial Park Designation

made under Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

as amended to O.I.C. 89-960 (August 22, 1989), N.S. Reg. 166/89


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Acting Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 7th day of June, A.D., 1973, pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to

 

       (a)    constitute all that area of land including land covered with water, owned by Her Majesty in the right of the Province of Nova Scotia and situate at or near Risser’s Beach in the registration district of the district of Lunenburg, County of Lunenburg, Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, said area of land being more particularly described in Schedule “A” and shown outlined on the Plan of Survey marked Schedule “B”, both Schedules “A” and “B” being attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation;

 

       (b)    declare the name by which the Park shall be known as “Rissers Beach Provincial Park”.

Schedule “A”

Rissers Beach Provincial Park


All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at Petite Riviere, in the County of Lunenburg, Province of Nova Scotia as shown on a compiled plan (Field Plot No. P-071/89A showing “Rissers Beach Provincial Park” and filed in the Department of Lands and Forests Provincial Crown Lands Record Centre office at Dartmouth, as C.L.R. No. E-15-26 the said parcel of land being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at a survey marker L 1000 on the intersection of the northern boundary of Route No. 331 and the western boundary of lands now or formerly land of Victor Romkey;


Thence southwesterly along the northern boundary of Public Highway Route No. 331 on a curve to the right having a radius of 919.39 feet an arc distance of 25.09 [feet] to a point;


Thence continuing along the northern boundary of Route No. 331 a grid bearing S 60° 00' 29"W a distance of 402.10 feet to a point;


Thence continuing along the northern boundary of Route No. 331 an arc distance of 190 feet more or less to a point. Said point being on the prolongation of the boundary between iron pipe L620 and survey marker L640X as shown on aforementioned Compiled Plan (Field Plot No. P-071/89A);


Thence southeasterly across Route 331 a distance of 100 feet more or less to survey marker L640X;


Thence S 28° 28' 12" E, a distance of 164.12 feet to iron post L620;


Thence S 28° 28' 12" E, a distance of 7 feet more or less to the ordinary high water mark of Green Bay;


Thence continuing S 28° 28' 12" E, a distance of 200' to a point;


Thence parallel to and a distance of 200' from the ordinary high water mark of Green Bay, a distance of 5300 feet more or less to the eastern side of a breakwater;


Thence continuing along said breakwater southeasterly, westerly and northwesterly, a distance of 950 feet more or less to the intersection of the northern end of the aforementioned breakwater and the ordinary high water mark of Petite Riviere;


Thence northeasterly and northwesterly along the ordinary high water mark of Petite Riviere, a distance of 2540 feet more or less to survey marker L625X. Said survey marker L625X being at the intersection of the ordinary high water mark of Petite Riviere and the southern boundary of Route No. 331;


Thence along the southern boundary of Route No. 331 a grid bearing of S 78° 24' 06" E, a distance of 330 feet more or less to a point;


Thence across Route No. 331 a distance of 100' to survey marker L624X. Said survey marker L624X being on the intersection of northern boundary of said Route No. 331 and the eastern boundary of lands now or formerly of Edith Taylor;


Thence along the eastern boundary of lands now or formerly of Edith Taylor and the eastern boundary of lands now or formerly of Ronald A. Mosley and Eloise C. Mosley a grid bearing of N 01° 35' 54" W, a distance of 166.67 feet to iron post L623;


Thence along the eastern boundary of lands now or formerly of Ronald A. Mosley and Eloise C. Mosley a grid bearing of N 28° 02' 17" E, a distance of 356.97 feet to survey marker L1017;


Thence along the northern boundary of lands now or formerly of Ronald A. Mosley and Eloise C. Mosley and also lands now or formerly of Reverend Mosley, a grid bearing of N 78° 20' 46" W, a distance of 234.32 [feet] to iron post No. L704;


Thence along the northwestern boundary of lands now or formerly of Reverend Mosley a grid bearing of S 54° 32' 57" W, a distance of 256.9 [feet] to survey marker L1016. Said survey marker L1016 being on the eastern boundary of mad brook;


Thence southerly along the eastern boundary of said brook, 360 feet more or less or until it meets the northern boundary of Route No. 331;


Thence along the northern boundary of Route No. 331 a grid bearing being of N 78° 24' 06" W, a distance of 60 feet more or less to a point on curve;


Thence continuing along the northern boundary of Route No. 331 on a curve to the left having a radius of 1038.12 feet an arc distance of 54.68 feet to survey marker L702X. Said survey marker L702X being on the intersection of the northern boundary of Route No. 331 and the eastern boundary of lands now or formerly of Wallace Richard;


Thence along the eastern boundary of lands now or formerly of Wallace Richard a grid bearing of N 06° 53' 15" W, a distance of 72.87 feet to a point;


Thence continuing along the eastern boundary of lands now or formerly of Wallace Richard a grid bearing of N 06° 27' 14"W, a distance of 354.95 [feet] to iron pipe L701;


Thence a grid bearing of S 71° 39' 45" W, a distance of 323.40 feet to iron pipe L700;


Thence a grid bearing of S 34° 18' 16" W, a distance of 330.99 feet to survey marker L699. Said survey marker L699 being on the intersection of the western boundary of lands now or formerly of Everett Reiser and the northern boundary of Route No. 331;


Thence along the northern boundary of Route No. 331, an arc distance of 85.17 feet to survey marker L698X. Said survey marker being of the intersection of the northern boundary of Route No. 331 and the southeastern boundary of lands now or formerly of Edith Moore;


Thence along the southeastern boundary of lands now or formerly of Edith Moore a grid bearing of N 32° 15' 36" E, a distance of 292.17 [feet] to iron pipe L697;


Thence along the northeastern boundary of lands now is or formerly of Edith Moore a grid bearing of N 35° 02' l1" W, a distance of 112.71 feet to an iron pipe L696;


Thence along the northwestern boundary of lands now is or formerly of Edith Moore a grid bearing S 36° 19' 09" W, a distance of 181.11 feet to an iron pipe L695;

Thence along the southeastern boundary of lands now or formerly of Jacob Romkey a grid bearing of N 40° 33' 05" E, a distance of 397.88 feet to survey marker L999;

 

Thence along the western boundary of lands now or formerly of the Estate of W. H. Owen and lands now or formerly of Victor Romkey a grid bearing of S 36° 53' 20" E, a distance of 628.43 feet to the place of beginning.


A tract of land containing a total area of 277.3 acres more of less including public highway Route No. 331.
