IMAGE INFORMATION

Sam Labrador was the father of Margaret Julia Labrador Charles, mother of Elsie Charles Basque. He was born 17 February 1868 [Baptismal Records, St. Ambrose Cathedral, Yarmouth, N.S.], son of Steven Labrador and Rose Boudreau, and baptised the same day. He died of influenza, probably in 1920 or 1921, during the big world-wide epidemic. He is buried in the Salmon River cemetery, Digby County; and has no headstone. Dr. Basque's sister Lucy recommended the funeral was on a cold January morning. [Elsie Charles Basque to R.H. White head, personal communication, 20 August 1997.]
