IMAGE INFORMATION
On this photographic copy of the lost painting, the original is attributed to Rebecca Crane Starr (1817-1902) of Halifax. The attribution to Starr may rest solely on the fact that this photograph was acquired from her estate. The model is identified in pencil on the photo as "Christy Anne," thought to be based on information received from various Mi'kmaq looking at the portrait. [Dr. Phyllis Blakeley, Archivist, to R. H.
