Each year the Department of Natural Resources has some funding allocated to buy privately owned lands to support departmental objectives such as forestry, recreation, economic development, and protection of biodiversity. The Department also acquires land through donation and land exchanges. Please click on the topics listed on the left-hand menu for more details.

If you are interested in buying, selling or donating land, you will need to complete an application form. The application form is available on the department’s website as a word document or to as a fillable PDF. Hard copies of the form can be obtained from any Department of Natural Resources office.
