Mira River Provincial Park Management Plan

Mira RiverLocated on the Mira River between Sydney and the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site of Canada, Mira River Provincial Park has provided regionally-significant opportunities for outdoor recreation to Nova Scotians and out-of-province visitors for over 40 years. Almost an island in the midst of Mira River, the 86 hectare property provides an attractive setting for a range of nature-based outdoor activities while also protecting important natural and cultural heritage values.

This management plan defines a vision and management philosophy that will guide park management decisions for Mira River Provincial Park over the next 20 years. In addition, the plan establishes a policy and decision-making framework for a major redevelopment of the park which is anticipated to commence in 2009.
