Road-Paving Contract Awarded for Digby County

Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (Oct. 2007 - Feb. 2021)

A $798,301 road-paving contract in Digby County has been awarded by the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal.

The contract was awarded to Aberdeen Paving Ltd. to repave Eustace Comeau Road from the intersection of Trunk 1, south for 2.9 kilometres to Maza Road. The repaving will also include Maza Road from Eustace Comeau Road for 1.9 kilometres to the intersection of Second Division Road. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of summer.

"I'm looking forward to the end of this winter weather so contractors can get started on the many projects we're tendering for 2008," said Murray Scott, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. "So far, for this year we have tendered more than 145 kilometres of repaving for Nova Scotia roads."

This project is part of government's commitment to better roads and infrastructure as outlined in the speech from the throne.

The department's highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
