Tenders Called for Lunenburg County Paving

Drivers in the Lunenburg and Mahone Bay areas will soon have a smoother connection to Highway 103 because of a road paving tender announced by the province today, April 8.

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal has called a tender to repave 9.3 kilometres of Route 324 from the intersection of Route 325 near Mahone Bay to the intersection of Route 332 at Lunenburg. The tender also includes repaving on Route 325 from the intersection of Route 324 for 1.2 kilometres to Mahone Bay.

"Our department is working hard to keep Nova Scotia's highways in top shape," said Murray Scott, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. "Repaving these two sections will benefit residents as well as the thousands of visitors who come to these scenic areas every year."

The project is part of government's commitment to better roads and infrastructure as outlined in the speech from the throne.

The department's highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
