Closures of Access Nova Scotia Centres and Registry of Motor Vehicle Offices

All Access Nova Scotia Centres and Registry of Motor Vehicles Offices across the province will be closed at the following times:

• Friday, April 18, 4:30 p.m.
• Monday, April 21, All Day
• Tuesday, April 22, All Day

Full-time offices will re-open on Wednesday, April 23, and part-time offices on Tuesday, April 29.

The closures are necessary to modernize the Registry of Motor Vehicles computer system. The current system is about 20 years old and is being upgraded from a mainframe to a new web-based system.

The new system will be easier to operate and can be adapted to new programs and changes in the future. It will also cost less to operate.

Nova Scotians who have licences that expire on April 21 and 22 are urged to renew early to avoid any inconvenience.

Every effort will be made to minimize disruptions to service resulting from the change over to the new system.
