Province Calls Tender for Eastern Shore Paving Project

Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (Oct. 2007 - Feb. 2021)

Drivers on an important connecting road along the Eastern Shore will soon be getting a smoother ride because of a road-paving tender announced by the province.

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal tender is for repaving East Chezzetcook Road from the intersection of Trunk 7 for about 9.9 kilometres to the end of the existing pavement.

"This project will help residents connecting to Trunk 7," said Murray Scott, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. "It will also be appreciated by visitors who use the road to travel along the beautiful Chezzetcook Inlet."

The project is part of government's commitment to better roads and infrastructure.

The department's highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
