Nominations Open for French-language Services Excellence Awards

Acadian Affairs (to Oct. 2016)

People who have received excellent service in French from a Nova Scotia government employee now have an opportunity to nominate that person for an award.

The Office of Acadian Affairs is accepting nominations in three categories for the inaugural Bonjour! Award for Excellence in French-language Services.

"The province is committed to developing and delivering programs and services for the Acadian and francophone community," said Acadian Affairs Minister Graham Steele.

"It is an honour to formally recognize public servants who have embraced their work in French-language services as we approach the five-year anniversary of the French-language Services Act."

The awards recognize outstanding contributions by Nova Scotia government employees to French-language programs and services. The public can submit nominations in the Excellence in Service Delivery to the Public category. Government employees can nominate colleagues in the Excellence in Leadership and Excellence in Program Development categories.

A selection committee will have representatives named by the Fédération acadienne de la Nouvelle-Écosse, Canadian Heritage, the Deputy Ministers' Advisory Committee for the French-language Services Act and the French-language Services Coordinating Committee.

The criteria for the Bonjour! Award for Excellence in French-language Services and nomination forms are available at www.gov.ns.ca/acadian , by calling 1-800-670-4357, or by contacting bonjour@gov.ns.ca .

The deadline for nominations is Nov. 20. Successful nominees will be honoured at a ceremony in March 2010.
