Nova Scotia Human Rights Inquiry to Conclude

Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission

An independent board of inquiry will resume on Friday, Oct. 2, regarding a complaint of discrimination on the basis of age.

Robert Theriault claimed that his employer Conseil scolaire acadien provincial forced him to retire in 2005 at the age of 65 and the inquiry found that there was discrimination. It is now hearing the losses Mr. Theriault experienced as a result of the age discrimination.

The final day of the hearing will be held at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, second floor in the Seminar Room, 1723 Hollis St., Halifax at 9:30 a.m. It will be chaired by Donald Murray.

Boards of inquiry are the final stage in the human rights complaint process.
