One of Canada's leading grocery retailers, the country's first visual arts university, and the largest investment dealer in Atlantic Canada are among the newest charter members of Nova Scotia Come to life.

Signatories from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Sobeys, Beacon Securities and 43 other businesses and learning institutions, signed the charter document with Premier Darrell Dexter at a ceremony in Halifax today, Oct. 2.

"The Nova Scotia Come to life brand is strong because of the impressive people, companies, universities and associations it represents," said Premier Dexter. "I am humbled and proud to stand alongside the more than 350 charter members of Come to life to showcase all that our province has to offer."

As the provincial branding initiative, Nova Scotia Come to life brings together the public and private sector to change outdated perceptions of the province by providing a unified voice and vision.

"Nova Scotia needs a strong voice, and by working together, we can make ourselves heard," said NSCAD University president David Smith. "We compete with other jurisdictions for people, students and investment. We need to stand out from the crowd and Nova Scotia Come to life gives us the opportunity to do just that."

Charter members act as ambassadors for the province, ensuring the Come to life message is reaching a broad and diversified audience.

Since 2005, Nova Scotia Come to life has carried out several programs and campaigns to strengthen the province's image.
