Funding Applications for Transit Organizations Now Available

Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations (Oct. 2000 - March 2014)

Funding applications for two provincial transit programs are available to community and public transit organizations across the province.

Through the Accessible Transportation Assistance Program, $400,000 is available this year to help purchase accessible vehicles or modify existing vehicles. The program will provide a maximum of $50,000 for eligible projects.

Through the Nova Scotia Transit Research Incentive Program, $250,000 is available to help build new or improve public transit services in rural and unserviced urban areas. The program will provide a maximum of $50,000 for eligible projects.

"These programs will help provide safe and inclusive access to public transit services throughout Nova Scotia," said Ramona Jennex, Minister of Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations.

Applications for the programs are available online at www.gov.ns.ca/snsmr/muns/infr .

The deadline for applications is Jan. 8.
