Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (Oct. 2007 - Feb. 2021)

CONTINUING WORK


ANNAPOLIS COUNTY: Highway 101, Bridgetown

Highway 101, Bridgetown, is reduced to one lane at Exit 20 for bridge repairs until Friday, Aug. 29.

Traffic signals are in place.


ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Highway 104, Heatherton Bridge

Heatherton Bridge, over the Pomquet River on Highway 104, is reduced to one lane from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. for repairs.

The work is being done from Sunday to Thursday, and is expected to be completed Friday, July 11. Both lanes will be open on Friday and Saturday nights.

Traffic control people are on site.


CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Blacketts Lake Bridge

Blacketts Lake Bridge on Blackettes Lake Road will be closed for repairs until Saturday, July 26.

Detour route on Highway 125 and Trunk 4.


CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: George Street Roundabout

The George Street Roundabout, at Exit 8 from Highway 125, is now open to traffic.

The existing traffic signals will be removed and traffic control people will direct traffic during the transition period.

Paving and finishing work on the roundabout will not be completed for at least two weeks. Drivers should use extra caution during this final stage of construction.


CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Sydney River Bridge

The Sydney River Bridge on Keltic Drive is closed for replacement. While the bridge is closed, there is a free shuttle bus service between Coxheath Arena (305 Keltic Dr.) and Walmart (65 Keltic Dr.).

A detour route is marked.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Plains Road

Sections of Plains Road, from the intersection of Masstown Road west to Highway 4, are reduced to one lane for repairs.

Motorists are asked to use caution through the construction zone. The project is scheduled to be finished Friday, Aug. 8.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Route 246

Sections of Route 246, from the intersection of Highway 6 to 400 metres north of Kennedy Hill Road, are reduced to one lane until Friday, Aug. 1, for ditching, and culvert and pipe installation.

Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from dawn to dusk.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Route 311

Route 311, from Route 256 north for about one kilometre, is reduced to one lane for repaving until Saturday, July 26.

Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from dawn to dusk.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 6

Sections of Highway 6, from the intersection of Route 307 to the Colchester-Cumberland County line, are reduced to one lane for repaving until Saturday, July 26.

Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from dawn to dusk.


COLCHESTER/HANTS COUNTIES: Highway 102, Shubenacadie River

Construction is taking place on Highway 102 at the bridges over Shubenacadie River until September 2015.

Traffic is normally two lanes in both directions, however drivers are urged to travel with extra caution in the area.


GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Melford Brook Bridge

The Melford Brook Bridge, on Route 344 at Middle Melford, is closed. A two-lane detour bridge is in place until a permanent bridge is built. The speed limit is reduced to 60 km/h and warning signs are in place.


HALIFAX COUNTY: Route 354 (Beaver Bank Road)

Sections of Route 354 (Beaver Bank Road), from the Hants County line south for about seven kilometres, are reduced to one lane for repaving.

Traffic is controlled by flag people and a pilot vehicle. The work is scheduled to be finished Tuesday, Sept. 30.


HANTS COUNTY: Enfield Road

Enfield Road, from Renfrew Road north to Trunk 14, is reduced to one lane for paving and shouldering until Friday, July 11.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


HANTS COUNTY: Glen Brook and MacInnis Brook Bridge

Glen Brook and MacInnis Brook Bridge on Route 202 in West Gore is reduced to one lane for bridge repairs until Friday, July 11.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


HANTS COUNTY: Mines Road, Upper Falmouth

Mines Road, Upper Falmouth, from the end of paving for about two kilometres, will be reduced to one lane for gravelling and seal coat until Friday, Aug. 29.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset. Traffic control people are on site.


INVERNESS COUNTY: Crowdis Bridge

Crowdis Bridge is closed until further notice for repairs. A detour is available via Crowdis Cross Road, West Big Interval Road and Hatchery Road.


INVERNESS COUNTY: West Lake Ainslie Road

The Hayes River Bridge on West Lake Ainslie Road has a 15-tonne weight restriction.


KINGS COUNTY: Whitman Bridge

Whitman Bridge, on Whitman Road between Maple Avenue and Ward Road in Aylesford, is closed for repairs until further notice.

The detour route is Maple Avenue, Victoria Road and Ward Road.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Walburne and Woodstock Roads

Sections of the Walburne Road, from the intersection of Newburne Road east to Woodstock Road, are reduced to one lane for repaving until Sunday, Aug. 31. Sections of Woodstock Road will also be reduced to one lane.

Traffic is controlled by flag people.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Forties Road

Traffic on sections of Forties Road, from the intersection of Fraxville Road to the intersection of Barss Corner Road, is reduced to one lane for repaving. The work is scheduled to be completed at the end of September.

PICTOU/COLCHESTER COUNTIES: Highway 6 (Sunrise Trail)

Highway 6 (Sunrise Trail), half a kilometre east of the intersection of Joudrey Road, will be closed at Seal Creek Bridge for repairs until Friday, Aug. 8.

Eastbound traffic on Highway 6 will be detoured onto Route 326 at Brule Corner, then to Upper River John Road. Westbound Highway 6 traffic will be detoured onto Louisville Road, then to Route 326.


PICTOU COUNTY: Alma Road

Alma Road, from Sylvester Road north to Route 376, about four kilometres, is reduced to one lane for patching and repaving until Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.


PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104

The eastbound lanes of Highway 104, from Exit 21 at Westville to Exit 25 at Stellarton, are reduced to one lane for bridge repairs and repaving until Sunday, Aug. 31.

Speed limit in the work zone is 80 km/h.


PICTOU COUNTY: Lower Road

Lower Road, from the southern intersection of Route 348 to Well Hill Road, about two kilometres, is reduced to one lane for patching and repaving until Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.


PICTOU COUNTY: Stewart Road

Stewart Road, from Route 376 west to Durham Road, about five kilometres, is reduced to one lane for patching and repaving until Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.


RICHMOND COUNTY: Highway 104

Highway 104 will be reduced to one lane for bridge repairs east of the Inverness/Richmond County line at the St. Peters Junction CNR underpass until Friday, Aug. 29.

Traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic signals.


RICHMOND COUNTY: Little Harbour Area

Several roads in the Little Harbour area are reduced to one lane for paving and upgrading until Friday, Aug. 29.

The affected roads are Shore Road, Mombourquette Road, and Little Harbour Road.

Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.


YARMOUTH COUNTY: Alders Bridge

Alders Bridge on Saunders Road will be closed for repairs until Sunday, Aug. 31.

A detour is available on Haley Road.


YARMOUTH COUNTY: Highway 3

Highway 3, from Willet Road to the Shelburne County line, is reduced to one lane for repairs until Saturday, Aug. 30.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset. Motorists should be prepared to stop and delays are possible.
