Health-Care ICT Firm Expanding in Nova Scotia
International health information systems consulting and software development company Global Village Consulting Inc. is expanding in Nova Scotia.
The informatics company focuses on the health and social services market including electronic health (e-health) records implementation, public health, standards and terminology for getting systems and organizations to work together, e-health IT staffing, and management consulting.

"We see our Halifax office as a nexus point for engagements with public- and private-sector clients in Atlantic Canada, the northeastern United States, as well as across the rest of Canada."
Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI) has signed a five-year payroll rebate agreement with Global Village to encourage the company to grow in Nova Scotia. Global Village must create at least four full-time equivalent positions in the first year. Then the company can earn a rebate on payroll for up to 25 new positions.
If Global Village creates 25 new jobs, it would add more than $5.7 million in salaries to Nova Scotia's economy, and employees would pay provincial personal income taxes of about $663,000. The company can earn up to $472,500 in payroll rebates through NSBI's Strategic Investment Fund.
The company will be looking to fill a variety of positions including senior, intermediate, and junior level consultants, senior human resources professionals, executive and administrative assistants, clinical and subject matter experts, technical architects, and project managers.

The agreement also encourages Global Village to hire new graduates of Nova Scotia universities and community colleges, and helps attract skilled professionals to live and work in the province. The rebate will help the company with recruiting and relocating costs.
