Show and Shine at Sherbrooke Village

Communities, Culture and Heritage (Jan. 2011 - Aug. 2021)

Classic and antique vehicle enthusiasts will gather this weekend, Sept. 5-7, at Sherbrooke Village in Guysborough County for the 20th annual Sherbrooke Show and Shine.

The event takes place Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and features a road rally, music, dance at the Lions Hall, door prizes and raffle. The kick-off concert, featuring the Reeves Family and Friends, will be Friday, at 7:30 p.m.

"Owning and maintaining an antique or classic car is a superb way for Nova Scotians to express their passion for heritage," said Communities, Culture and Heritage Minister Tony Ince. "The vehicles at the Show and Shine will definitely turn a few heads this weekend."

This year's event will also highlight the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang.

"I never imagined when the show started that it would become so popular and well attended," said Show and Shine originator and long-time participant Sonny Alexander. "The Sherbrooke Show and Shine has become one of the must attend shows during the antique car season."

Proceeds from the Sherbrooke Show and Shine benefit the Historic Sherbrooke Village Development Society. The event is produced in partnership with the St. Mary's Tourism Association and Sherbrooke Village.
