Kevin Brooks v. Government of Nova Scotia, Correctional Services
Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission
An independent human rights board of inquiry into Kevin Brooks v. Government of Nova Scotia, Department of Correctional Services, will begin Tuesday, May 31.
The hearing will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Halifax Harbourview, 101 Wyse Road, Dartmouth.
Mr. Brooks alleges that he was discriminated against on the basis of his race and/or colour while employed by Correctional Services. Correctional Services deny this allegation.
The board chair is E.A. Nelson Blackburn, who is independent of the commission, a party in the board of inquiry representing the public interest.
