Lotteries and Casino Corporation Releases 2015-16 Community Report

Nova Scotia Provincial Lotteries and Casino Corporation (Jan. 2013 - July 2018)

The Nova Scotia Provincial Lotteries and Casino Corporation released its 2015-16 community report today, Sept. 26, and reinforced its commitment to social responsibility.

The report marked the 10-year anniversary of the corporation's Social Responsibility Charter, and outlined the status and results of activities under charter. A North American first when it was created in 2006, the charter is built on five pillars: responsible gambling, integrity and security, citizens and communities, corporate governance, and stakeholder relationships.

"Social responsibility is the backbone of everything we do at the corporation," said Bob MacKinnon, corporation president and CEO. "From Responsible Gambling Awareness Week to supporting athletes and those in the cultural industries to our Support4Communities program that helps charities raise funds for good causes, the corporation and its employees work hard to make Nova Scotians proud."

This past year, the corporation worked with Casino Nova Scotia to complete the initial assessment for accreditation under RG Check, the most rigorous responsible gambling accreditation program in the world.

Nova Scotians raised more than $4 million for amateur athletes and community sport organizations through the flagship Support4Sport program. It is now the most significant source of funding for sport in the province. An additional $2 million was raised for arts and culture in Nova Scotia through the Supoprt4Culture program.
