Premier Welcomes Results of Federal Election

Premier Darrell Dexter sends his best wishes to Nova Scotia's 11 members of Parliament on their electoral victories today, May 2.

"The province congratulates Nova Scotia's one newest and 10 returning members of Parliament to Ottawa," said Premier Dexter. "It was a well-fought campaign and all candidates, as well as their campaign workers, should be proud of their efforts."

Stephen Harper was returned as Prime Minister during the 2011 federal election.

"Nova Scotia congratulates Stephen Harper on his election win," said Premier Dexter. "The province looks forward to working with Mr. Harper and his government to make life better for Nova Scotia families."

The premier complimented all the candidates and their campaign workers for their hard work.

"Organizing an election campaign requires the work of many staff, volunteers, and community groups," said Premier Dexter. "All campaigns dedicated many hours and long days to help make our province and country a better place to live. Nova Scotia thanks all those who played a role for their commitment and passion to the democratic process."
