Premier Appoints Associate Deputy Minister

As part of government's commitment to support good jobs and help grow the economy, Premier Darrell Dexter today, Aug. 16, announced the appointment of Christopher Daly as associate deputy minister of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism.

Mr. Daly is a graduate from Dalhousie University and holds a master's of environmental studies from the faculty of management. Mr. Daly has served as acting associate deputy minister of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism since November 2011.

"The province is preparing for a number of economic game changers such as the Irving Shipbuilding contract and the Lower Churchill project and we must be well prepared to ensure we take full advantage of these opportunities," said Premier Dexter. "Chris has proven himself to be an effective senior executive who can support the province's work to attract new jobs and grow our economy."

Mr. Daly's appointment is effective immediately.
