Tourism Nova Scotia (Oct. 2015 - Dec. 2021)

A firm with international tourism expertise will partner with a local Nova Scotia agency to market Nova Scotia to the world. DDB Canada partnered with Halifax's Trampoline to become the successful proponent in the competitive selection process for Tourism Nova Scotia's marketing contract.

DDB Canada has been Destination Canada's agency for 12 years and has helped make Canada the number one country brand in the world. Its Toronto office will work with Halifax marketing agency Trampoline to deliver the contract, valued at $6 million, which includes media buying.

"DDB brings a wealth of international travel and tourism experience and we're very excited to work with them" said Michele McKenzie, interim president and CEO of Tourism Nova Scotia. "Their worldwide network of expertise and Trampoline's local insight and experience will help Nova Scotia meet the ambitious goal of doubling tourism revenues to $4 billion by 2024."

As marketing partner, DDB Canada and Trampoline will lead creative development for all Tourism Nova Scotia marketing, as well as manage digital services and media planning and buying.

"As proud Nova Scotians we are thrilled about this for our staff, our agency and our province," said Mark Gascoigne, CEO of Trampoline. "Partnering with the best in the business will give our staff a great opportunity to grow while giving Nova Scotia the best chance to achieve its bold goal of doubling tourism revenues."

Tourism Nova Scotia issued a request for proposals for a new marketing partner via public tender in July 2015. The tender was open for four weeks and received 20 submissions from interested parties. A selection panel that involved Tourism Nova Scotia, industry representatives and procurement experts reviewed and scored submissions against criteria outlined in the proposal.

The marketing services contract was previously held by Extreme Group for three years. DDB Canada and Trampoline assume responsibility for marketing services on Nov. 1.
