Budget Consultations Begin

Finance and Treasury Board

Nova Scotians can share their thoughts and comments to help shape the province's 2017-18 budget and future budgets.

Budget Talks 2017-18 opens today, Nov. 24, and Nova Scotians can send submissions until Jan. 16.

"We spent three years delivering on our progressive plan for a stronger Nova Scotia," said Finance and Treasury Board Minister Randy Delorey. "We have invested more in orthopedic surgeries, more in education and more to help recent graduates get their first jobs."

Mr. Delorey said the government is committed to working with Nova Scotians while this plan continues to evolve.

"We invested in the priorities of Nova Scotians," said Mr. Delorey. "We want to hear from Nova Scotians as we develop our next budget. This will ensure we keep investing in the priorities of Nova Scotians."

The fiscal plan estimates a surplus for the 2017-18 fiscal year. It also estimates surpluses for the next three fiscal years.
