Service Scheduled for Allan MacEachen

A celebration of the life of Allan J. MacEachen will be held Sunday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m. at the Charles V. Keating Centre, 1100 Convocation Blvd, St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish.

Mr. MacEachen, 96, a native of Inverness, died Tuesday, Sept. 12. The longtime Nova Scotia MP, cabinet minister and senator was also Canada's first deputy prime minister.

Those attending the service, which is open to the public, are asked to be in their seats by 1:30 p.m.
