Two provincial parks are not open for camping. The campgrounds at Wentworth Provincial Park in Cumberland County and Salt Springs Provincial Park in Pictou County are closed. The Department of Natural Resources will continue to operate the day use areas of both parks.

As of Tuesday, April 1, burning permits are required in the counties of Queens, Shelburne, Yarmouth, Digby, Annapolis, Kings and Lunenburg. Permits are required in all other counties beginning April 15. Fire season continues through to Oct. 15.
